About me
Julia Derek, B.A.(Hons), CPCC, ACC, CEOL is a certified End-of-life Coach.
I currently hold the designation of Associate Certified Coach, credentialed by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) through the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI), the gold standard of life-coach training. I have been a practising life coach for five years, working as an internal leadership coach within a Global organization. I am also a member of the Vancouver Island Chapter of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
As a coach, one of my own personal experiences with grief involved losing both my parents, who were diagnosed with cancer within one week of each other and died in very different ways. The later loss of my Mother guided me toward my purpose of supporting others in this sacred space: to process life and death's deep emotions with an open and loving heart.
I feel honoured and grateful to work with clients from all over the globe, and I respectfully acknowledge that I live, work, and play in the beautiful Comox Valley on the East Coast of Vancouver Island, Canada, in the unceded traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land. Thank you for allowing me to live, work, and practice on your lands.
Testimonials:
Working with Julia has been a truly transformative experience for me during a time of deep sorrow. Her compassionate guidance and unwavering support have been instrumental in helping me navigate the complex journey of grief.
Before working with Julia, I felt overwhelmed by my emotions and uncertain about how to move forward. But from our very first session, she created a safe and nurturing space where I could express myself freely and without judgment. Her empathetic listening and genuine understanding made me feel seen and validated in my pain.
One of the most impactful aspects of Julia's coaching was her ability to help me reframe my perspective on loss. Instead of viewing grief as a burden to overcome, she encouraged me to see it as a natural part of the healing process – a journey of self-discovery and growth.
I am incredibly grateful to Julia for her compassion, wisdom, and unwavering support. She has truly been a beacon of light in my darkest moments, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone in need of support during their grief journey.
